Query Language

Our text search engine allows queries to be formed from arbitrary Boolean expressions containing the keywords AND, OR, and NOT, and grouped with parentheses. For example:

finds documents containing 'spring' or 'horse'

finds documents containing both 'spring' and 'horse'

spring not horse

finds documents containing 'spring' but not 'horse'

(spring not horse) and Hedstrom

finds documents containing 'Hedstrom', plus 'spring' but not 'horse'
